A “Berry” Good Day..

by DanicasDaily on February 17, 2010

Ok, ok ~ so I am like 5 years old and couldn’t think of a better title, but, today DID involve a lot of berry goodness so that counts, right? :D LOL

I completely LOVED my breakfast this morning.  I started off with a mini fruit salad with a banana, strawberries and a blueberry sprinkle (2 pts).

Then, I moved onto a Fage 2% (no clue why the label doesn’t say FAGE- funny, huh?).  This was tasty but I realized as I was eating it that it’s basically just jam plus greek yogurt ~ something that you can EASILY make yourself for less moola ~ not to self for next time.  This little container is 3 points.

All together with a 1 point Kashi Strawberry Flax Protein Waffle and creamy decaf coffee.

My pre-run snack consisted of this FANTASTIC organic pear I got at Trader Joe’s and a Trader Joe’s Light string cheese (2 pts for all of it).

My legs completely did not want to run today at all, but, it was so BEAUTIFUL outside in the 70’s and sunny with the flowers blooming that I couldn’t pass it up.  I ran an easy 2.6 miles then walked .7 more just to enjoy the sunshine.

When I came back, I had the MOST AMAZING lunch that was so simple.

Earth Grains 100% Whole Wheat THIN BUN

Morning Star Chick Patty ( I LOVE these!!!) ~ TOASTED!

1 Tbsp Artichoke Jalapeño Spread

Mini Sweet Orange Pepper

All together this fantastic sandwich comes in at 5 points.  I cook my Morning Star Chick Patties in the microwave for 20 seconds, then, toast them so they get all crunchy ~ So GOOD!

I whipped up a quick salad of TJ’s Organic Herb Spring Mix, mini peppers, cherry tomatoes, AVOCADO and this new Annie’s FF Raspberry Balsamic Dressing. (1 pt)

Delicious combination….but when I walked by my co-workers desk I had to pick up some crunch.

She had just bought these Olive Oil Rosemary Triscuit’s to try.  I had 6 of them for 2 points ~ YUM!  I LOVE how you can taste the Olive Oil and the Rosemary is not overbearing.  The only bummer that I just realized when I looked them up is that they contain MSG (boo!)  Maldextrin is another ingredient that isn’t so bueno, but, it seems to be in everything these days.

My afternoon flew by and I wasn’t really feeling the need to have a snack.  However, I did want something sweet so I decided some ChocoLOVE was in order.  I broke out this bar…..

IMG_9235

I had 4 squares for 2 points.  HOLY YUM!  I LOVE that they used FREEZE DRIED RASPBERRIES ~ it gives you this perfect crunchy sweet tart raspberry in their smooth DARK CHOCOLATE.  TOTAL LOVE!!!  I WISH they sold this stuff in California because I’d totally be ALL OVER buying it :D

After work I headed out to my Weight Watcher Meeting.  I LOST 1/2 A LB (.4 lbs to be exact).  Eh, not bad, but, I know I can do better with all the running I am doing.  This week I am going to tighten the reins a bit and see if I can make my results better next week.

The topic of our meeting was about dining out and that was our challenge this week ~ to dine out once on program.  So what’s a girl to do – why wait ~ do it ASAP :D

2 Spicy Vasquez Chicken Tacos for 8 points!

I currently cannot find my camera charger anywhere ~ AHHHHH!  I LOVE that I am a bit greener by using a rechargeable battery but I have to admit it sucks when you can’t find your charger.  I guess it might be time to break out my big camera again until I can find it *sigh*

All week long you can get FREE SHIPPING on orders over $25 and 15% off my Eat Smart Precision Pro Scale along with some other fun items during the Olympic Promotion!

I will be adding more things to my shop this week so I will let you all know when you have more things to pick from :D

Hopefully you all have a “BERRY GOOD” day too ;)

COMING UP NEXT THE MINI MEXICAN MEATLOAF RECIPE ~ FINALLY!

Oh they do sell Chocolove in Cali! You can find them at Cost Plus (World Market) or Target! They are so yummy and the love poems are just so cute, aren’t they? :)

What a wonderful lunch! I am also obsessed with that brand of chocolate, especially the raspberry flavor. It’s so good! By the way, I passed the sunshine award to you. :)

That’s the 1 chocolove bar I have! And yes, the freeze dried berries make it sooo flavorful
