Car Alarms are not always a good thing…..

by DanicasDaily on August 18, 2009

This morning I was planning on getting up at 5:30 am to get in a run before work.  However, I think my car doesn’t like our Paper Boy/Girl.  For the past week, EVERY day between 4am-5am when our paper is delivered my car alarm goes off.  I go sprinting for my keys to turn my alarm off ~ ahhhh! I bet our neighbors LOVE us just for that early morning wake up call LOL.

So ~ this morning my early alarm was 5 am!  I figured there was no point in going back to sleep so I got up and got my run/walk intervals on.  It was such a great way to start my day even though I know I’ve lost a little running stamina from my hiatus.

Breakfast was “Amazing” ~ I decided to give my Organic Wheat Grass a try.  Last year I really tried to convince myself to try Wheat Grass because Tosca Reno swears by it….um, it, never happened until today :)

It is SUPER bright green.

My Purple Monster included:

1/2 c lowfat greek yogurt

1/2 c frozen fresh blueberries

1 frozen banana

1 white nectarine

1 packet green wheat grass

water

I whipped up my smoothie in my Magic Bullet and put it in my Amazing Grass Smoothie cup to take with me on my drive this morning.

You can actually see the GREEN Wheat Grass specs in it – look closely :D

Ok ~ so for my review I have to incorporate a little bit about my childhood and growing up.  When I was little I grew up on a farm and was a total “cow-girl” who not only LOVED horses, but, wanted to be one too!  I used to run around “neighing” like a horse with our horses and have even tried alfa alfa (the hay they get fed).  See even back then I knew eating grass was good for me! :D

My Wheat Grass smoothie sort of reminded me of alfa alfa.  It’s not a bad thing ~ the flavor is good and grassy with the sweetness of all the fresh fruit and creaminess of the yogurt.  It was refreshing and I’d definitely have it again.

You should try it, really :D

This morning I had a fun surprise waiting for me at my desk ~ Annie’s Latest Organic Snack Mix.  They have taken the original version and “Cheddar’d” it up.  Doesn’t cheese make EVERYTHING better?!  I can’t wait to dig in!

the nutritionals are pretty decent and I LOVE that BEST ingredients list!

Co-worker’s can be so awesome too!  One of my peanut butter party co-workers left a Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Bar on my desk……I can’t wait to savor it piece by piece!

I “almost” feel like it’s my birthday with all the fun gifts I got today ~ Yeah!

The star of my morning snack involved a jar of the The Nut Barn Crunchy Almond Butter that I picked up at the Farmer’s Market awhile back.  I LOVE that there is nothing added to it, but, almonds.

Chunkiness!

1 Heaping Tablespoon on top of a Thomas Double Fiber English Muffin ~ so good!

Today for lunch I am heading to the Farmer’s Market to stock up on some veggies ~ Yeah, I can’t wait.  It is one of my favorite ways to spend my lunch hour.

Oh and I will also be posting an update on the Pantry Shelf The Husband made for me!

See you all after lunch!
