Hungry-Girl Rocks & her book signings do too!
We arrived about 45 minutes early to the Hungry-Girl Book Signing and it was already packed. How cool is that?! You know you have a product that sells itself when people arrive hours early just to get your signature on the book you wrote.
We were lucky enough to get the last two seats and after that it was standing room only.
Within about 5 minutes of sitting down and noticing all the free loot, they told us they had lots of great samples for us. Since there was a mix up in the dates, they had way too many samples to go around. They let us go through the line grabbing 2 of everything at first. Then, had us do it again and again….yahoo to free loot! But, more on this in a bit.
We had fun helping out with the Tour Footage Video they were taping. They had us do some chants after one person suggested it and we got to choose if we wanted to individually record a segment. Of course Rachel was quick to offer me up and The Husband snapped the picture.
Lisa AKA HG, came out after our channting and gave a quick speech on her new book. Then, she opened it up to a Q&A session. People were shy at first, but, after a few questions things got rolling. I have to say it was really awesome to hear all the questions people had from how to use certain products to if the book would work for someone Vegan. I was soooo excited I did my stint in veganism because I was able to help out with ideas – yahoo! Click on the VEGAN links on the right if you want some great ideas.
I have to say I LOVE Lisa! Seriously, I mean, I knew she was awesome from her newsletters and website plus her first book. But, this was the first time I have ever met her and SHE ROCKS!!! What you see is what you get – her personality that shines through in her newsletters is exactly how she is in real life. She is so funny and really gives each of her fans attention to listen/answer their questions.
She actually chatted with each person as they brought up their books! Ok, get ready for a picture slide show here – The Husband went picture crazy 
And, of course, I posed with HG herself!
As if Lisa wasn’t already cool enough, she was so excited that I brought 5 books (I gave one to Rachel to have her sign it!) She gave us FREE T-Shirts to say Thanks for supporting me!

I also had her sign my original book too since I wasn’t able to make it to the first book signing. She thinks I rock too!!

Ok – are you all sitting down for this??? I told Lisa about my blog and how I was going to host a giveaway for one of my signed copies. She was all for it. The girls who helped her out LOVED the idea too and loaded me up with a ton more of FREE LOOT to give away as well! I will definitely be hosting some giveaways soon to share all of this……

A day @ The View From The Bay
I have never been in any studio audience, but, I have to say this was so awesome and one of the best experiences ever! It is really different to see how the show is put together behind the scenes. Everyone on the set is so organized, funny and friendly.
We lined up outside at 2:00 to wait. We couldn’t resist taking a pic next to the ABC Sign.
One of the girls “Twittered” Hungry-Girl and she came outside to say hiya! So fun! Lisa, a.k.a., Hungry-Girl is so great, but, more on that later in her separate post. After waiting in line they escorted us upstairs and gave us one last chance to use the bathroom before we took our seats in the studio audience.
Several of the guests who were appearing on the show along with Spencer & Janelle came out to greet us, say hi and answer our questions. It was a nice quaint setting with only 25 people in the audience. We also got to practice our clapping and learned clapping quickly makes your clap louder. Throughout the show we were coached on when to clap or not.
You are not allowed to take any pictures until after the show is done, but it is amazing how they do all their set changes in such a small area. These are two pictures of the studio where all the action happens.
I have always wondered how they change the cooking segments so quickly, but, they simply have stands in the back ready to go that they roll in and out for each scene all on the commercial breaks. They do this all while chit chatting with the audience and cracking jokes with each other. It amazed me how they knew how they could talk up to the last 5 seconds before the show starts back up LIVE.

Matt Skinner author of “Heard it Through the Grapevine: The Things You Should Know to Enjoy Wine” How to serve wine like a pro. Impress them, even if you barely know red from white! I LOVED the different shapes of his bottles and of course his accent!
Tom Colicchio chef/author Real tips on how to save money and make the best meal every time, from one of America’s most popular chefs and authors. I actually didn’t really get to listen to this too much because they were talking in the studio and it was loud.
Tom Musbach editor of HotJobs.com Who’s hiring in the Bay Area and where can you find extra income? We’ll find out where you need to look and what you need to know. Good tips!
I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the two Hosts Spencer & Janelle! They are so funny and their personalies really play off of each other. The best part is that they are THAT funny off screen too – what you see if what you get. I made sure to snap a quick pick with them as well to sum up our trip to ABC.
The time that we were in studio really flew by fast and I’d totally do it again! They said they will be posting some pics on facebook this week of us. If they do, I will be sure to do an update and post those too.

Lunchtime Surprises….
Not only did The Husband decide to have lunch with me, he brought surprises with him!! Most of you know he is way more creative than me, but, just in case you didn’t, here is proof. He couldn’t wait to give me one of my gifts and my card. He was having a hard time keeping it a secret what he had got…..I unwrapped the package and this was written on the box.
I am intrigued at this point, but, I think I’ve figured out what he got. So, I quickly open the package and this is what was inside.
He had me totally convinced Aluminum represented the 5 year anniversary!!! Ha! Then, I opened his card and he made up a little thing for each year with stuff we had around the house. Yes, he actually glued all this stuff in the card.
He got me some scratchers and the best gift ever!!! Since Wood is truly what you are suppose to give on your 5th year anniversary, he said he is going to build me a brand new, expanded pantry. I am telling you – it is what every girl dreams of….ok, well, maybe just me!!! He said he wanted to give me extra shelves to fit all my new plates I have been getting LOL!!! I LOVE him – he rocks!
For lunch, he picked Buckhorn’s since he wasn’t able to go on Monday. I got the Yik Yak Salad with chicken that you saw on Monday. Sorry for all the repeats this week, but, this salad is that good. I think I could eat it everyday.
And a few items from the the Frings sampler. I can’t pass up a sweet potato fry!
We also took a picture for our scrapbook. You know, I really wished they had a 5 of any suit instead of the 6 of spades we received….Oh well, that might be pushing my 5 obsession too far
We had a fabulous time at lunch and I LOVED his little surprises. I know he is cooking up something fun tonight now that he doesn’t have to work ~ Either a replication of our first day or something else. I am going to have alot to make up for when we get to Tahoe I can’t wait to give him my gifts, but, I ummm, still have to finish getting them first! You know it’s 5 things, right?! I am bad….lol

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Cooking Light. Their magazines and cookbooks rock, but, I LOVE that you can get just about every recipe they have online for free. Well today – they have 2 cool new articles on their website that are worth checking out.
