Free isn’t always a good thing

I am glad you all are having fun with The Perfect Night In Giveaway!  I LOVE all the things you plan on using that Target Gift Card for ~ they make me want to go SHOPPING :D   Friday was such a fun day ~ it included some good and not so good eats, but, a lot of fun with my co-worker and The Husband.

I have to say I was pretty proud of myself to the new egg “secret ingredient” mix in idea I had for breakfast.

1/3 c Egg Beaters

1/2 Tbsp Spicy Artichoke Jalepeno Dip (aka Secret Ingredient)

Seal Salt, Pepper

Big Drops of Sriracha

All cooked for 1 minute in a dish sprayed with nonstick spray in the microwave.

SO GOOD~  It was spicy with a cheesy artichoke flavor. (1.5 points)

I had a side of TJ’s Lean Turkey Bacon that I may or may not have drizzled with a little Agave Nectar to make it salty/sweet (2.5 points).

IMG_0019

Plus a 1 point crunchy nectarine for dessert.

IMG_0018

I was starving and this high protein combo totally hit the spot for 5 pts!

IMG_0016

To celebrate FRIDAY, I had some wine and cheese for my 2 point snack :D

IMG_0025

I had planned on having a Bagel Thin Sandwich (you all knew it had to happen, right?!) however, my co-worker and I needed a seriously girl chat session for lunch.  So, we headed out for SPICY, CRUNCHY Thai Food at Thai Kitchen!

I started off with their soup with a BIG Dallop of Chili Sauce in the middle.  I LOVED that it was so hot it made my lips hot too.

IMG_0027

For my main dish I ordered Spicy Broccoli Chicken.  This is one of my FAVORITE things to get because the broccoli is crunch, they use REAL white meat chicken and it’s only 2 POINTS PER CUP!

IMG_0031

They cook it up with jalapeños but that doesn’t stop me from dowsing it in MORE spicy chili sauce.  HOT, HOT, HOT!

IMG_0035

Plus a cup of Brown Rice on the side (4 pts)

IMG_0030

We also had a little noodli-ness on the side with some Pad Thai.  I did manage to down a bit of this.  Spicy Pad Thai is so high in points ~ I think it’s the rice noodles, peanuts and peanut sauce.  I estimated 6 points for my 2/3 c serving.

IMG_0033

I LOVE late lunches because the afternoon flies by!  The Husband and I had plans to hit up his FAVORITE local Indian Casino to pick up some Collector Casino Chips.  They only made 2,500 of these Tiger Chips.

IMG_0054

Have I ever told you all he LOVES collecting the $1 chips from every casino we visit?  Whenever we go on vacation, it usually includes a mission to get some $1 chips.  It’s so cool because I can give him a $1 chip and he gets excited like a little kid in a candy shop :D   He is SO easy to please!

P.S. We both totally scored on the slot machines ~ I won $74 on a penny machine called Hot Shots ~ LOVE it!

We have had a gift card for Chili’s Bar & Grill for the longest time so we decided a FREE dinner is a good thing…..or maybe not.

I ordered their $9.99 Combo Special where you get an appetizer or dessert with your choice of items.  I really just wanted a salad, but, The Husband wanted the appetizer so it worked.

He picked bottomless chips and salsa.  Funky salsa ~ it tasted like enchilada sauce, but, it still didn’t stop me from having my 12 chips counted out for (3 pts)

IMG_0038

He of course, got his boneless chicken wing fix too.  These look awesome, but, there is a too much vinegar.  I tried one for 2 pts and decided they were not worth it.

IMG_0047

I was SO Excited for my Salad ~ A Small Asian Chicken Salad ~ doesn’t the description sound good?

“Napa cabbage, crispy wontons, edamame, green onions, cilantro, sesame seeds, Asian vinaigrette and a creamy peanut drizzle. With your choice of grilled chicken, salmon or steak.”

IMG_0039

Ok ~ so I can handle that they had no napa cabbage but they should tell you because romaine gets totally soggy when it sits in an asian salad.

IMG_0041

But, then, I stirred it up and UGH ~ It was all MOLDY everywhere!!!

IMG_0046

Obviously I couldn’t even eat that and when I asked the waitress if they would use the same lettuce for the other salads she said yes ~ all their salads kinda look like this tonight ~ NICE!!! Why don’t they tell people this?!  :(

I picked their Smokey Chicken Tacos instead and thought you can’t go wrong with that, right?

“Smoked Chicken with poblanos, caramelized onions and a spicy & smoky chipotle sauce. Topped with Cotija cheese and cilantro sour cream.”

IMG_0051

These were mini tacos which I thought were cute.  But, they were totally just weird ~ They tasted like BBQ chicken tacos, but, not in a good way ~ they were sweet and ketchup like without any smokey chipolte flavor.   The Husband who eats like EVERYTHING couldn’t even get past one bite.  I had half a taco and pretty much gave up at this point.  Too bad because they looked& sounded so good.

IMG_0052

It’s pretty rare that I give a not so bueno review, but, seriously, their food wasn’t good at all.   I am glad it was FREE and all, but, I’d rather pay for food and have it be good.   There are too few calories to eat in a day to waste them on things that don’t make your mouth happy :D

Two more days to enter to WIN THE PERFECT NIGHT IN!!!!

Have an awesome Saturday all ~ Catch you all later!

I can’t believe I’ve never noticed those turkey bacon strips at TJ’s before; I must not be looking carefully enough

Your breakfast looks great! And a great portion for 5 pts. I love that!

Sucks about Chilis not being very good. :(

Don’t know what is happening at Chili’s – we had a bad experience with their chicken fried steak which is now all batter no meat – guess the bad economic times are impacting everyone and everything.
