Healthy Choice Giveaway

by DanicasDaily on December 18, 2009

As you all know, I LOVE preparing my own food and often do not resort to frozen meals too often. When I do, I look for a product that has 100% ingredients I can recognize and not to many of them.  During BlogHER Food09, I learned about Healthy Choices new selection of “All Natural” entrees and soups that fall into this category.  Since I know I have some readers who dig their entrees, this contest is for you :D

I know as the holidays approach you all are busy preparing for parties, shopping for gifts and decorating your homes. Healthy Choice understands the time constraints and wants to help ease your holiday to-do list by taking something off your plate, and offer coupons along the way!

Here are some suggestions for how Healthy Choice can help you this season:

Soups are a great way to warm up on a chilly day, but don’t spend hours making your own when there is decorating and shopping to do! Try Healthy Choice Tomato Basil or Traditional Lentil. You’ll get a great-tasting soup in a hurry!

Having a cookie swap or unexpected guests stop by and want a snack?  Keeping your pantry and freezer stocked with Healthy Choice All Natural Entrées Asian Potstickers or Pumpkin Squash Ravioli will help keep you sane rather than stressed .  They make a great quick appetizer or snack that’s not only delicious but healthy too!

I think the best “healthy choice” is to make a conscious decision every time you fix your plate to make sure that you are choosing wisely…and to think of food as energy fuel. A lot of times, I will be tempted to eat things that are not good for me…I will then think to myself, “How would I feel if I ran after eating this?” If the answer is “terrible,” then I don’t eat it!

I wouldn’t mind having something easy and healthy available when I travel to visit family. It’s not easy to cook a healthy meal when everyone else is eating “comfort food”. Popping something like that in the ‘wave would be an easy solutino!

Well, holidays for me are usually hard because we take our family trip to the Carribean around New Years, so every party gets me thinking how i need to be in a bathing suit in a few days. I think being lower in calories, Healthy Choice could make a perfect pre-party meal so that I’m not as hungry and jumping head first into the cheese tray (which is what happens after the first glass of wine!)!

I’d use this when I might be tempted to snack through my lunch hour thinking I’m too busy to sit down and eat lunch – this would be quick and healthy!

If I won this prize, I’d use it to get a healthful snack to leave out for Santa instead of the usual cookies and milk. That would “take off my plate” the task of making those cookies, and it’d be good for the jolly old elf, too! ;-)

Well, although Healthy Choice wouldn’t take anything off my PLATE, it would take a lot off my TRAY! ;) (they are in little trays hehe) Being a college student, quick meals are a LIFE SAVER! Even when I’m home for the holidays, it seems like I can barely catch my breath. I always make my breakfast, and usually have time to prepare a nice dinner; but lunch is ALWAYS a rush, so Healthy Choice Frozen Meals would be perfect! :D

I definitely think that these Healthy choice coupons would help “take something off of my plate.” Considering that I am a college student, there are WAY too many meals that consist of junkfood. It is just oh so easy to call that pizza delivery number, or oh so simple to stick a pack of ramen noodles on the stove. The only problem is that these foods are not great for you multiple times per week. So, if I had HC meals then I would have a bit of variety in my life!! (especially to prepare before my night classes…as I need something that is ready in a snap!)

I will use Healthy Choice to take stress off my plate. It’s so easy to get consumed with spending time with family and holiday shopping and what not; who wants to think about dinner? Not us!

I’ll be spending all of the holidays away from my own kitchen. I’m very anxious about not having my own kitchen and food to eat. I would take the Healthy Choice entrees with me when I’m staying at my fiance’s parents house so that if the other food choices were not good options, I would not have to stress about eating them.

I guess you can say I am a starch hound. I would love to take the potatoes, pasta and rice off of my plate and replace them with extra vegetables. By eating more vegetables which are almost calorie free and the right portion I will be more healthier and drop the needed weight not to mention how much better my cholesterol will be and my dotor will get off of my back :)

I just checked out the Healthy Choice Website! If it were to be ANY HC product…
At my X’mas potluck dinner with the family, I am always responsible for a bunch of things. While I make the entrees, i would buy the HC caramel swirl sandwiches and dip them into chocolate so they look like their home made, sprinkle with red and green spinkles and then bring them for dessert! muhaha

Not if it were just the entrees, I would TOTALLY buy the pasta cafe steamers, microwave it, chill it, then toss it into a bag of spring greens to make it look super fancy shmancy without having to go out and buy OR make the mix-in’s myself! hehehehe

I love the HC pasta sauce, makes my life so much easier! Good for meatball appitizers or a quick past dish. Leaves more time in the evenings to watch holiday movies and enjoy each other.

I would use a box of Healthy Choice as a base for a side dish and just add LOADS more veggies in. This way, you get the bulk of the dish plus all the flavor! There’s usually more than enough sauce to add about 2x’s more veggies. This would definitely take the “load” off making one of the side dishes.

My boyfriend and I are making a Christmas dinner for just us two on Dec. 26th. We’re going to be traveling ON Christmas day. Since our Mexico vacation is Dec 21-25, we will be at the airport all of Christmas day :(

These meals would be awesome for two big reasons – after I spend all night baking/eating my cookies I can microwave a quick, healthy dinner! After baking, I never feel like “cooking” so it would be perfect, and it would balance all all the raw cookie dough and “ugly” cookies I was forced to consume!
