LOVE at First Bite!

by DanicasDaily on January 31, 2011

Happy Monday all!  You all are AWESOME!!!  Thank you so much for all the encouragement and comments on my last post. I honestly LOVE you all…..it’s like I have a bunch of friends along for the journey who just jump in, help me dust off my shoulders and get back up to keep on, keepin’ on!  So Thanks for that ~ I wish I could show you all how much it means to me.

Today I hopped right back on the band wagon by getting my bootie groovin’ out in the sunshine with a 55 minute power walk at lunch and one DELICOUS Points+ Day!

Today started with my NEW LOVE……the one I showed you all yesterday….

Trader Joe’s Jalapeno Cheddar Pub Cheese!

Weight Watchers Breakfast Sandwiches

I made up a cheesy sausage breakfast sandwich for 6 points+!

* Double Fiber Orowheat English Muffin

* 1 Tbsp Trader Joe’s Jalapeno Cheddar Pub Cheese….it literally MELTED on the muffin

* Morning Star Veggie Sausage

LOVE!!!!!!  It may not look so pretty, but, I guarantee you will have LOVE at First Bite like me!

Trader Joe's Jalapeno Pub Cheese

Balanced out with a not so great plum.

Mid Morning I was convinced that we NEEDED Starbuck’s….ok, well, I guess all you have to do is mention a Grande “Dirty Latte” to me and I am there (4 points+).  At least it counts as a dairy serving Winking smile

Dirty Latte

Lunch was the rest of the Chicken Cilantro Potsticker Soup from yesterday (4 points+)

Won Ton Soup

Plus a little Spicy Peanut Asian Slaw (Broccoli Slaw + 1 Tbsp TJ’s Spicy Peanut Vinaigrette) (1 point+)

Asian Slaw

More Crunch ~ a fuji-riffic apple!

Apple

Dessert was a combination of TWO things.  Last week I was intrigued by these when I saw them at Whole Foods.

Chocolate Short Bread Cookies

Little tiny Dark Chocolate Cookies!  No clue on the stats though :/

Dark Chocolate Crunches

I decided to finally give them a try (LOVE ~ they are kinda like rice crispy treat crunchy but taste like dark chocolate short bread cookies).  I savored each one (yup ONE at a time LOL) along with 2 Biscoff Cookies and some tea in our cool work cups! (2 points+)

Tea

As soon as I walked in the door The Husband said we “needed” some of THAT cheese and crackers.  OMG, I have a feeling TJ’s Pub Cheese might just be TOO GOOD! (4 points+)

What is pub cheese

THE BEST thing about dinner tonight was I didn’t have to cook it ~ The Husband totally LOVES taking credit for cooking leftovers Open-mouthed smile

I had another Crockpot Asian Slaw Slider (5 points+) on a Sesame Bun (3 points+)

Crockpot Asian Slaw Sliders

Plus Parmesan KALE CHIPS!!! I am telling you the TWO things that will make you LOVE these is sprinkling them with parmesan cheese and dipping them in ketchup.  It’s totally crunchy and “fry” like. (2 points+)

How to make kale chips

MMMMM!  I LOVE it when half my plate is filled with “CHIPS I LOVE!”

Weight Watchers Low Point Dinners

We STILL have a ton of leftover BBQ Pulled Pork.  I might have to freeze it and make baked beans or something with it later…..Ohhhh, maybe a pulled pork pizza!

Another Danica’s Daily T-Shirt Sighting!!! Corinne sported her Tee at her local Weight Watchers meeting and snapped a picture next to Jennifer Hudson ~ I LOVE that!!

She said that she plans on looking as good as Jennifer does in that photo and is going to send us a picture of her rockin’ her goal weight!  I know you will Corinne ~ can’t wait to see it!

Q’s

What is your favorite breakfast sandwich?

Mine by far is my simple “Eggwich” on Trader Joe’s Fat Free Multi-Grain Bread.  However, I am honestly DIGGING this Jalapeno Cheddar Sausagewich……Maybe I need to ADD it to my favorite sandwich and see the result ~ I am SO doing that tomorrow!!!

NEW FRIENDS ~ ASK A PERSONAL TRAINER ANSWER How to Choose the Right Shoe!

Trader Joe’s recently got a huge influx of new items. I can’t wait to try them all. The pub cheese will be at the top of the list. Thanks for the recommendations.

Seriously that Trader Joe’s pub cheese is totally amazing! I LOVE it with the Trader Joe organic corn chips. I just love it a little too much!

I am craving a dirty latte now! I need to finally go and try one!

Hi there,

We did the crockpot pulled pork at our friend’s cottage last summer. We had a ton left over, as well and so we bought some wraps and made them burrito-like, in the oven with some cheese and refried beans. It was oddly good!

Favourite breakfast of the moment for me is: 3 egg whites + 1 egg made into an omelet with 1oz soft goat cheese and 1 oz of smoked salmon (6+) Huge and amazingly good! I have this for lunch with a salad, as well.

Love your blog :)

Jackie

OMG, morning star sausage patties, I could totally live off of those, along with that kale recipe!! I made it a few weeks ago for the first time, I absolutely must have my kale chips every day!!! I don’t dip them in red sugar though:-) LOL.
(seriuosly I could drink ketchup, so I just stay away) But knowing kale is a great food for you, and just a tad bit of parmesian, I am baking kale every other day. If people havent tried this, YOU MUST!!

Hmmm…I love a toasted ezekiel english muffin (those things are so yummy-and filling!) with nut butter and maybe banana OR with cheese toasted onto it and maybe some eggs. I am a big fan of toasted sandwiches, I guess:-).

My favorite breakfast sandwich is green peppers, onions, and mushrooms in olive oil, on top of egg whites and a whole wheat bagel thin. The eggs and veggies actually make enough for 2 sandwiches.

Your sight really motivates me! I just found you and enjoy reading all about your progress. Thanks for the ideas!!!

I love a medium poached egg with a slice of canadian bacon on a whole wheat muffin and a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. My homemade Egg Mcmuffin for only 6P+. Now if I could only figure out how to make those hashbrowns for less…

Those chocolate pears always taunt me when I visit Whole Foods. I don’t buy them b/c they don’t have nutritional stats on them. I’ll get them next time tho. I would totally enjoy them one at a time or on top of some Greek yogurt for bfast.

i LOVE the kale chips! I made them awhile back w/ olive oil spray and sea salt. They truly reminded me of eating movie theater popcorn…Crunchy, salty, veggie goodness!
