The 3 “F’s”

by DanicasDaily on August 22, 2009

We had such a busy and fun filled Saturday.  Today was all about the 3 “F’s”.  The Farmer’s Market, Football and Food!

Since today is my last day to eat anything I want, I took advantage of some carbs by getting a toasted Asiago Cheese Bagel at Starbuck’s with a grande iced nonfat, decaf late with caramel drizzle.  YUM!  I HEART cheesy bagels and lattes!

After dropping our jet skis off for a recall item, we headed out to the Farmer’s Market.  The Husband cracked me up because they had a vendor there BBQ’ing at  9 am in the morning.  I had to buy him “breakfast” to thank him for going to the market with me.  He had this Tri Tip sandwich at 9 am LOL (The Breakfast of champions ~ oh and this is only 1/2 the sandwich, I snapped a shot while he ate the other half).

I stocked up on some healthy carbs for the Body For Life Challenge at the market.

Watermelon!

Big juicy, red tomatoes!

IMG_0858

Candy like organic cherry tomatoes

IMG_0859

Organic two colored corn!

IMG_0861

3 Jalapenos & some spicy yellow hot pepper!

 IMG_0862

Green & Yellow Beans!

IMG_0863

2 Sweet Potatoes (not the orange yammy ones, the yellow ones)

Plus a big bowl of nectarines & pluots.

After the market, we drove out to our 11 year old nephews first football game!  It was an away game out in the country but it was a pretty nice setting.  His sister got the time wrong though ~ we showed up 2 hours BEFORE the game started.  Yup, we are the dedicated Aunt/Uncle LOL.

I read my Body For Life Book and broke out snacks while we waited.  Some of the new Annie’s Cheesy Organic Snack Mix ~ SO GOOD!  I had 3 piles!  Our other two nephews chowed down on these too.  Our 5 year old nephew kept bringing me a orange bunny and a white bunny and a “funny shaped” brown pretzel bunny ~ so cute!

I also stole a few of The Husband’s nuts ~ they were salty sweet and GOOD! :D

IMG_0871

Did I tell you all it was so freakin’ HOT??? It was 102 today.  The Husband’s sis let me use one of her umbrellas (that’s her behind him) and he kept cool by wearing his Cal Bears Jersey in a stylish new way.

2 hours later the game started and our nephew did awesome!  There is something so cute about watching little kids play sports.  During the game I snacked on a nectarine and shared some pumpkin seeds with the nephews.  We didn’t bring lunch because we figured we would eat after.  Since we were there for 5 hours, lunch became snacks which can be fun too.

After the game, we were starving so we headed out to Vasquz Deli ~ one of my favorite local Mexican food places.  I started off with my FAVORITE crunchy chicken taco.

IMG_0914

Then I moved onto something new a Chicken Tostada ~ holy wow!  I couldn’t believe how HUGE this was when I opened the box.  I could’ve easily just had this as my meal.  I shared it with The Husband and we rolled out of there to stop by his friends and do some shopping.

After some shopping for new shoes for him and checking out protein powders for me, we made one last stop for my FAVORITE ice cream cone ever!  I wanted to get my last dose of ice cream since I may or may not have it over the next 3 months.  I know you get a “free” day each week, but, I am going to do my best to be good on those days too.

Now we are chilaxing on the couch ~ The Husband is getting ready to play poker online and wants to challenge me in a tournament.  Fun! I am so STUFFED and seriously feel like I have a gut bomb in my stomach.  Sometimes Mexican food can be so heavy.

My Body For Life 12 Week challenge begins tomorrow ~ I am excited, but, also nervous because I am not sure I know everything I need to yet.  I am going to be planning out each days eats and workouts BEFORE I do them plus taking my measurements, setting goals and all that.  Stay tuned tomorrow for more on the challenge.

Nite all!

Looks like a great day, even though there was a lot of waiting! That has happened to me a few times lately.

I’ve been thinking about doing BFL. I can’t wait to see how it goes for you! I’m also on the look out for protein powders, so I snagged a coupon. Thanks!
