The COOLEST “School Supplies”

by DanicasDaily on September 16, 2009

Happy Hump Day all!  I have to start off by saying Thanks to you all for the FANTASTIC comments.  You really know how to make a girls day.  Thanks to Jane (I’ve missed your comments!) for her sweetness and to Janetha for voting for me as the BEST RECIPES BLOG for the FoodBuzz Awards ~ Awesome!

The Biggest Loser rocked last night – I can honestly say I don’t think there is a single person I don’t like.  I LOVED the group effort and how they are all there to help each other ~ even if I thought the “boy” should go home…well because “girls rule, boys drool”, right?! :D

I actually gave myself permission to sleep in this morning and had planned on doing my HIIT at lunch.  My brain had another idea though and I was wide awake at 5 am.  So, I figured, I might as well get up and get moving.

Today’s HIIT was hills ~ I think I’ve officially decided I do not like HILLS on the treadmill. I can’t help but hold on a few times. I swear I hear Jillian’s voice saying “don’t hold on ~ haven’t you seen the show – you know NOT to do that!”

So ~ here is how my workout went down this morning.  I actually walked on the treadmill for about 8 minutes reading emails and my favorite BFL motivation Blog while trying to decide what I wanted to do.

minutes 1 & 2: 3.5 mph @ 0% grade(level 5)
minute 3: 4.0 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 4: 3.0 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 5: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 6: 5.0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 7: 4.0 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 8: 4.0 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 9: 4,0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 10: 5.0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 11: 4.0 mph @ 6% grade (level 6)
minute 12: 4.0 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 13: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 14: 5,0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 15: 4.0 mph @ 6% grade(level 6)
minute 16: 4.0 mph @ 7% grade (level 7)
minute 17: 4.0 mph @ 8% grade (level 8)
minute 18: 5.0 mph @ 9% grade (level 9)
minute 19: 6.0 mph @ 10% (level 10)
minute 20-30: 3.0 mph @ 0% grade (cool down)

I am proud of myself for sticking it out through this workout even though I honestly wasn’t feeling it and my stomach was really funky.

Meal #1 was consumed in the car after doing my make-up.  Yes, I go THAT slow in traffic (only 11 miles) that I have time to do my make up AND eat breakfast BEFORE I get to work LOL.

Egg + 1/2 C Egg White Scramble with chives, hot sauce, sea salt & pepper

2 slices of my FAVORITE new TJ’s Multi-Grain Bread.

Put on a plate for presentation before dumping it into my togo containers :)

So, I was wondering today if whole wheat crackers were BFL approved.  I mean, La Tortilla tortillas are used and they are not on the food list.  I decided that they fit into that “healthy carb” category and I broke out these fun new crackers I got on sale at Whole Foods a few weeks ago.

Meal #2 – You get 5 BIG crackers for only 70 cal ~ LOVE the organicness & great stats!

I had 7 (5=2) crackers with BIG FLAX SEEDS…MMMMMM

Plus a Sargento Low-Fat Cheesestick & 2 oz TJ’ s Maple Turkey.

Today for work they were having a Back To School Lunch with PB& J sandwiches and PB& Marshmallow fluff sandwiches.  I knew I could NOT be in the same room as peanut butter and marshmallow fluff so I went and got a pedicure.  It was awesome and I now have super cool RED toe nails.  The only problem was I didn’t want to go back to work – I wanted to go nap instead :)

Meal #3 was something I was really looking forward to.  It makes it so much easier to pass up pb and marshmallow banana cream sandwiches.   I had a repeat of yesterday’s lunch.

with some colorful squash instead of carrots today.  I seem to have a bit of a obsession with the crushed red pepper flakes that we have in our breakroom from the pizza party they had a few weeks ago.

MMMM….I was sad when it was all gone.

I DID get to pick up my back to school lunch bag since it had my name on it and all.  I waited to open it until I got home so I could have “show n tell’ with The Husband.

I got really excited when I peaked inside and saw my “back to school supplies”:

IMG_1925

Fun & Colorful ~ a pencil, happy face eraser, note pad (that I must hide from The Husband) and crayons.  Yes, I am 12 and LOVE ALL of this and will use it too :) LOL

But, here is the BEST part of my school supplies.  A brand new Annie’s KLEAN KANTEEN bottle!!!!

IMG_1926

I LOVE everything this company stands for and what their bottles represent.  I cannot wait to use it!

I was super busy this afternoon (getting ready for VACATION – 2 days of work left!!) that I missed out on Meal #4.  I decided to skip it but when I got home I was suddenly starving.  So I started out snacking on a few of our Organic Sweet 100 Cherry Tomatoes from our tree outside.   I cannot believe how many cherry tomatoes we are getting now – so cool!

Then, I snacked on some Lightly Salted Dry Roasted Peanuts to add a little protein/carb balance to my snack.

I realized as I cooked dinner that I didn’t need a snack because dinner cooked up SO FAST.  I had one of my favorite recipes modified for Body For Life for Meal #5.  That is coming up next!

STAT RECAP IN THE AM!

I love chives in eggs! The flavors are perfect together.

Don’t sweat the hills, you ROCKED that HIIT! You’ll get used to a little incline. Maybe try alternating- a little up, a little down, etc?

Another great BFL day!
