The last Farmer’s Market finds of the season…

by DanicasDaily on November 1, 2009

This is going to be a fly by post since I am running around to get a bunch of stuff done today so I can go SHOPPING!  Shopping for our cruise and food for the week – fun!

I started my day out with a Carrot Pumpkin Muffin Cupcake topped with crunchy almond butter.  It’s totally normal to have a cupcake for breakfast and it does make it a MUFFIN when you add almond butter :D

Plus a Grande FF Decaf Latte with caramel drizzle ~ I heart Starbucks!

I ran around town all morning including a stop at the last Farmer’s Market of the season.  I am sad that they are all over now, but, I guess I can’t complain since it’s only 6 months before they start back up again.

While I was at Target, I picked up the newest flavor of Kashi Crackers ~ Asiago Cheese!

For a light lunch on the run, I paired it with a Cabot Reduced Fat Cheese and a mini fuji apple.

I also found PUMPKIN SPICE Kisses while I was eyeing all the candy at Target.  Since I seem to have a thing for pumpkin this year, I HAD to buy some.  At first, I wasn’t impressed ~ pretty spicy and eh….but, after about 4 I decided I really liked them and their creamy filling.

Even though it was the last market of the season I still managed to find some fantastic produce.

Peppers ~ I think I am going to “stuff” them this week.

IMG_4146

Tomatoes!

IMG_4147

Two colors of carrots ~ I am going to roast them with butternut squash!

IMG_4148

Greens ~ Collard & Swiss Chard!

IMG_4149

Plus Baby Bok Choy – I think this variety is called Ming Choy or something but it’s all Bok Choy to me.

IMG_4150

I also made sure to stocked up my latest FAVORITE Crunchy Almond Butter from the Nut Barn.

I actually didn’t sit down all day until The Husband got home which was nice since I felt so accomplished for getting everything done.  We both knew we’d be chowing down on some Halloween snacks so we went with a light dinner.

Annie’s Latest 25% less sodium Mac n Cheese!

IMG_4154

Same great nutritionals and REAL CHEESEY ingredients!

IMG_4155IMG_4156

Cheesy good!  The Husband and I both couldn’t tell the difference in flavor – it honestly tasted the same as the other varieties!

IMG_4158

Trader Joe’s 3 Weight Watcher Point Mango Chicken Sausage ~ I LOVE these!

IMG_4160

Bok choy steamed and topped with Annie’s Organic Teriyaki Marinade and…..

IMG_4159

Srirachi HOT SAUCE!

IMG_4165

All together it was such and easy and totally delicious dinner.

IMG_4163

For dessert, we decided to split one of the Persimmon’s I bought last week.  WOW ~ why have I NEVER tried these before now?!  They are super sweet and crunchy like an apple but the flavor is similar to cantaloupe.  I LOVED them and now wish I bought more this week :)

After The Husband had his football fix, we watched Scream 3 and 48 hour mystery.  I stole a few pieces of candy out of the bowl plus a Recess PB cup that went unpictured.  We did have Annie’s Bunny Friends in there but The Husband had me buy candy because he didn’t want the kids to egg our house for not handing out chocolate – he’s funny! LOL.

I am off to run, shower and the SHOP – yeah!  Don’t forget to set your clocks back if you haven’t already.

Stay tuned later today for my Nature’s Path Giveaway announcement ~ fun!

Did you all do anything fun for Halloween??

That cupcake and mac n’ cheese look delicious! Hehe, we don’t do Daylight savings time in arizona. It sucks in the Fall, but it’s nice in the spring ;)

Your muffin with “frosting” looks delicious

I just discovered my local farmers market and I’m in love! All your veggies look so colorful and fresh!

I want to look for some local almond butter too…thanks for the idea :)
