Weekend Highlights & What’s On the Menu!

by DanicasDaily on November 14, 2010

Happy Weekend all!  We have had such a fun and busy weekend so I decided to post just a few highlights and share what’s on the menu this week!  Really, I want to kick up my feet and relax watching The Next Iron Chef, so here it goes…… :D

My weekend started off with a fun package from Amanda of Eating Up.  She asked me if I wanted to do a Chicago for Annie The Baker’s Cookie swap and I gladly agreed since I get Annie’s cookies any time of the year (Thanks, Annie!) How cute is her homemade card?! :)

Chicago

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that she went a little pumpkin crazy ~ It all looks and sounds so amazing, I do not even know where to start.  Thanks Amanda ~ you are awesome!

Chicago Treats

Since I am completely exhausted, tired and do not have too many exciting food items for the weekend, I decided to pick just a few of my favorite things.

There is just something that makes me smile about this time of year when I get a Starbuck’s Christmas Cups!  I had a dirty latte EVERY DAY this weekend (grande, fat free, decaf latte plus 1 pump mocha = dirty ;) ) (3 pts)

Starbuck's Christmas Latte

We met some friends at Red Robin and I have to say I never knew they used sustainable farming for their produce.  I think that is awesome and it definitely makes me want to eat there more.  Good job RR!

Red Robin

For the record, The Husband and I spilt the Southwestern BBQ Chicken Wrap.  It wasn’t bad, but, it was super BBQ-Y.

Fiesta BBQ Wrap

On Saturday we went to our God Daughter’s School Harvest Festival where we had a little fun and worked our booties off too!

Ducks

Can you believe they actually brought a petting farm and horse rides in the middle of the elementary school campus? So fun ~ it totally made me want to be a kid again.

Pony Ride

Pumpkin Bowling!!!! I totally want to have this at our next Halloween party ~ such a great idea!

Pumpkin Bowling

Some of the “BIG KIDS” had to play too (a.k.a.) The Husband when he found out that…..

Musical Chairs

You could win a cake playing musical chairs!!!

Win a cake!

He won, I got a “You Rock” sticker…..My prize was totally better ;)

You Rock!

The Husband and his BFF…..such clowns :D

Harvest Fest

After playing in all the games, we actually helped prepare and serve everyone in the Spaghetti Feed!  We were so busy, I totally forgot to take any pictures.  The food was actually phenomenal ~ the girls who made it are training at Le Cordon Bleu in Sacramento!

HERE’S WHAT IS ON THE MENU THIS WEEK ~ WHAT’S ON YOURS?

* CEiMB ~ Whole Wheat Pasta Salad with Feta & Walnuts

* Mushroom Chicken with Scallions over Brown Rice

* Cara’s Spaghetti Squash Torta

* Chipotle BBQ Chicken with Roasted Sweet Potatoes

* Giada’s Macaroni & Cheese Cupcakes!!

* Butternut Squash Soup with “pumpkin seed” croutons

The Husband said to insert Steak & Potatoes in there somewhere ;) and I always have breakfast and a few other “want to try” recipes on hand too.  So, that’s the plan and I am not committing at all to sticking to it ;) LOL

Ohhh and here’s a “hint” for what’s on the menu for tomorrow’s Tweet and Eat!  I like to think of it as Thanksgiving in one bite! Recipe coming up tomorrow :)

Turkey Cranberry Stuffing Meatballs with Merlot Apricot Sauce

We are going to the infamous Rutherford’s Grill tomorrow ~ I cannot wait!

I am so behind on emails, comments, etc.  I promise to catch up with you all and everyone’s Foodbuzz recaps this week!

Night all!

Awww I’m so glad it got to you in one piece! I think I told you this in the card–make sure you microwave the Carol’s Cookie before eating it! It makes it so much better! And let me know how that salsa tastes…I may have to get some myself! :-)

I love seeing your meal plan because I am going to plan tonight and you always, ALWAYS give me ideas. Cool about Red Robin! I love their fries. It’s dangerous. Can’t wait for the cute bite recipe–may need to make it for a party!

I love the package you got. So much pumpkin goodness!

I love the meal plan too… you seem to find the best things. Mac and cheese cupcakes? Seriously? So cool.
