Weight Watchers Points Plus Calculator & Deluxe Kit Special Discount Pricing & Information

by DanicasDaily on December 1, 2010

Happy Hump Day all!  I know several of you have been asking me about the 2011 Weight Watchers Points Plus Calculator & Deluxe Kit that I showed you on Sunday.  I stopped by my local meeting today to snap a picture of the Weight Watchers Special Discount Pricing that is in place through January 1st.

Do NOT buy them online, do NOT buy them on EBAY, do not pass go and collect $200 (you will pay too much).  Pricing may vary by location but should NEVER be more than the regular prices listed below.

Simply visit any one of the Weight Watcher Meeting Locations near you and buy your 2011 Weight Watchers Points Plus Materials BEFORE they go up in Pricing on January 1st.

Here is the breakdown of what is included in everything:

* DELUXE KIT: Complete Food Companion, Dining Out Companion, 3 Month Tracker, Ready/Set/Go Cookbook, FREE Points Plus Calculator, $20 in Coupons, Super Cool Organizer

* ESSENTIAL KIT: Complete Food Companion, Dining Out Companion, 3 Month Tracker,  $20 in Coupons

* COMPANIONS: There are two ~ one for Dining Out (Restaraunts) and Complete Food Companion (general and name brand foods)

* FOOD SCALE: You can actually use ANY food scale for Weight Watchers – really, you are just measuring ounces, grams, etc.  I LOVE My Eat Right Precision Pro and also own a Weight Watchers scale.  I use my Eat Right more than the other.  The ONLY difference is that the Weight Watchers one has the option of telling you the points of individual foods.  It’s cool, but, not required.

* PEDOMETER: It’s the same as most pedometers you can buy at the store with one feature added.  It tells you how many activity points you earned through steps.  Keep in mind though that it factors in ALL steps ALL day long so it may not be “activity” in a working out sense.

If you buy anything at all, BUY THE POINTS PLUS CALCULATOR.  It basically can do EVERYTHING YOU NEED to work the program.  It gives you your Daily Points Target as well as can calculate the points value of foods.

I also highly recommend the companions for ease of looking things up, however, if you have online access, then, you have all the data these books have.

Once again, I do not work for Weight Watchers and this is information is based entirely on my opinion and experiences.  Hopefully that helps to answer some of your questions.  If you have any questions or want to know anything else, just leave a comment or email me and I’ll do my best to find out.

Now…..moving on to another deliciously successful day!

Breakfast was seriously “eggsellant” ~ only 5 POINTS PLUS for this entire plate.

My new take on Green Eggs n Ham!

1 egg (2 pts+)

1/3 cup 100% Liquid Egg Whites (1/2 cup is the same points+) (1 pts+)

2 oz Lean Ham (2 pts+)

1 zucchini quartered and slices

1 green onion, chopped

Hot Sauce, Sea Salt, Black Pepper

Sprinkle of Chives ~ because I had them

All scrambled in a nonstick pan.  You could easily make this in muffin cups and cook in the oven at 350 for 20 minutes.

It was delicious and totally made me want to make another Ham just so I could make it again!  The best part, I was full ALL morning ~ 5 hours!

I am finally working my way through our leftovers ~ today I went for Soup & a sandwich.

This was the last of the 17 Bean, Vegetable & Ham Soup.  (5 Points Plus)

After learning 1 slice of my oatmeal bread is 2 points plus and 2 slices is 5, I decided I could easily whip up a “loaded” half a sandwich and not mix the other slice of bread.

My entire Cranberry Pineapple Ham Sandwich was only FOUR Points Plus! Awesome!

1 Slice Nature’s Path Oatmeal Bread (2 points plus)

2 oz Lean Ham (2 points plus)

2 slices pineapple (ZERO POINTS!)

Cranberry Mustard!!! (0 points!)

Dessert was a couple of these “cuties” for ZERO points plus Smile

Happiness! It’s so crazy to think that I didn’t even use half my points!  I still had 18 Points Plus remaining going into dinner Open-mouthed smile

The Husband and I decided it’s been wayyyyy too long since we visited our friends at Vasquez Deli ~ the BEST tacos in the world!  They even make their tortillas from scratch.

Since Vasquez doesn’t have their nutritional information online, I looked up the points in my Complete Food Companion.  You could do the same online or Weight Watchers Mobile.

I used to be able to get 2 for 8 points, now they are 2 for 10 points plus ~ still worth it to me!

This really is the BEST, Spicy Shredded Chicken ever!….it’s so juicy, spicy and melts in your mouth!

Since I STILL had 8 points left, I couldn’t resist a few bites of his cheesy quesadilla ~ I could honestly just eat their homemade tortillas straight up. I <3 carby-goodness!

The Husbands Cheesy Quesadilaa

LAST CHANCE to enter to win a Points Plus Calculator!

I LOVED reading all of your Points Plus Shockers & Surprises.  I found myself going yeah!, and OMG, nooooo as I read some of the things you have found.  I LOVE that you all have made me think about some of the things I now want to AVOID buying Smile

1.  What have you found to be your FAVORITE Weight Watchers Points Plus tool for looking points plus values up?

For me, I was hoping the DROID App would be a FULL app, but, it’s just a points calculator Sad smile  I honestly use my Companion Books because they are quick to grab and my online tracker when I am neat the computer

Night all!

New WW is SOOOOOOOO different from when I did it back in ’07, but I am really liking all of the changes!!! Right now I’m eating through foods I already have, so most of my meals are pretty “point heavy*, but when I go shopping on Saturday, they will all be new points friendly :)

Terri December 2, 2010 at 5:26 am

I been to my meeting yet so i have been using my onliine calculator, but it works great.

Elina (Healthy and Sane) December 2, 2010 at 6:38 am

I’m going to a meeting today. Still unsure of whether I want to follow the new program or not. It sounds much better than the last one. I’m all for protein!

Kimberly B. December 2, 2010 at 7:08 am

Just wanted to add a quick note – all WW locations don’t have the same prices. Depending on who they are franchised through – some are selling at the original or only slightly discounted prices. A friend who goes to meetings at a different location in VA told me her calculator was only discounted to $10 instead of the half price.

As far as the question. I use etools and the iPhone app mostly – but I’ve found that there are some items in the complete food companion that are NOT in either of those databases. For example, the Wegmans pre-prepared food is listed in it’s entirety in the book but not at all on etools yet. So for foods that are packaged – def the computer, but for foods that are pre-prepared, it really depends.

Lynda Morrissette December 2, 2010 at 8:33 am

I am loving this site. I use the iwatcher App for my iphone. I found an equation on line and updated it. I wrote the developer and he said when they figure out everything they will come out with an update.
I bought the deluxe kit for $34.95 in my area. I am enjoying reading it.
I have been a lifetime member since 1982. How is that for OLD 😉 I certainly see a change! But change is great!

Carbzilla December 2, 2010 at 9:05 am

I’ve decided to wait one more week before heading into a meeting. Hopefully the crowd will die down a little. I’ve lost about 2.5 lbs since Monday! That’s crazy!

Sami December 2, 2010 at 9:25 am

Louann December 2, 2010 at 10:08 am

I am thinking about joining WW Online b/c of the new Points Plus program (meetings are out of the question for me due to my scheduling). Is there a way to purchase the kit without going to meetings? I have emailed WW about this but haven’t heard back from them yet….just wondered if you might know.

Mary December 2, 2010 at 10:19 am

I love the new program.

Had a great on program day yesterday! Had two meals out. :)

I love the Points Plus calculator. I use the computer and iPad but the Points Plus calculator is just so handy. I bought the delux kit and got one free.

Our meeting was packed yesterday. I don’t know where all the people came from. I went early to purschase the Delux Kit (I love it)

dottie December 2, 2010 at 12:18 pm

I don’t know if these have already been mentioned, but some of the points shockers for me have been vita tops, were 1 point, now 3 (used to have one nearly every eve as a snack) and Arnold sandwich thins, were 1, now 3. Two of my staples. One of the guises of the new plan seems to be to encourage “low carb”, and higher protein; so far, all the straight protein foods I’ve entered have come up the same as they were. I always ate a lot of fruits and veggies, so adding freebies to my 29 points might not work. So far this week it hasn’t.

Is it true that one can trade in an existing WW scale for part payment on a new one? No wonder they put them on sale a few months ago, with points values about to change.

Carlee December 2, 2010 at 5:35 pm

your eggs look good. I often eat eggs and zucchini for breakfast. I grate up several zucchinis and put in a tupperware container with a paper towel to absorb moisture then in the mornings I saute a handful then add in eggs and cheese.

Jenni December 2, 2010 at 10:03 pm

I love etools! It is so simple and easy to look things up. It looks like they have expanded etools slightly too. I have noticed more accurate measurement options when I am tracking my food through it.

Mary Hefner December 2, 2010 at 10:08 pm

Does anybody know if there is a Food Companion and Dining Out Companion app for the Android phone? (I do not use etools or weight watchers on line). Thanks

DanicasDaily December 2, 2010 at 10:45 pm

Thanks, Kim for the information,. Who knew Weight Watchers didn’t charge the same prices everywhere?! I added a note to help out. I appreciate you leaving the comment and letting everyone know.

DanicasDaily December 2, 2010 at 10:57 pm

HI Dottie,

Maybe the trade off for your points will be to swap out the points you would’ve spent on fruit for the new additional points for Vitas and Thins. Just a thought :)

I haven’t heard that about the scales, but, now I am curious. I will definitely ask the next time I am at Weight Watchers. I had a feeling something was up when they discounted them sooo much. Even if you can’t return it, you can use it for weighing your foods to look them up :)

DanicasDaily December 2, 2010 at 10:59 pm

HI Mary,

I know they have the Paper Versions for the Food Companion and Dining Out Companion in meetings for $4.95 and you can access a similar version using weight watchers mobile on your phone. Unfortunately, the Droid App does not have that feature at this time….I WISH it did :)

Emily December 3, 2010 at 1:19 pm

Are you using the new Points + calculator to get the Points for your recipes that you have posted lately? I downloaded an app for my Palm phone and it is calculating the Points+ values slightly different. I am wondering if my app’s formula is wrong. I also found this formula for Points + online:
(Protein/10.9) + (Carbs/9.2) + (Fat/3.9) + (Fiber/35)
Do you know if that is correct?

DanicasDaily December 3, 2010 at 2:32 pm

Hi Emily,

I use one of three things when I calculate my points: My points+ calculator, etools or my food companion books. I did test out that formula when I saw someone post it and it was fairly close on a few things I saw.

If my calculator calc’d 2 pts, it was 2.5 pts.

It’s not too far off, but, not 100% the same. If the app you have isn’t from Weight Watchers, then, it will probably vary.

Hope that helps,

Alice December 5, 2010 at 10:08 am

I’ve lost 60 pounds on the Weight Watchers Points program in the last 2 years. So far, I’m very disappointed with the new Points Plus program because of the lack of flexibity in choosing foods at the grocery store.

The slide rule points finder was an excellent tool to convert calories to points. I understand the concept of getting people to look at foods that contain less carbs, fat, and sugars but I wish they had a provided a tool that gives us the formula to look at what is too high in carbs, what is too high in sugar and what is too high in fat! We’re totally on our own in the grocery store again with the exception of eating only fruits and veggies!

The book they provided us is substandard and requires you to purchase all the bells and whistles. If you have to have a points calculator to follow this new system, Weight Watchers should have given it to everyone.

If you were on the point system before, I would recommend NOT throwing away your materials and trying to adjust the current points listed by 2 points higher. I did purchase the calculator and it seems that’s the standard!

Sandy December 5, 2010 at 12:47 pm

Is there a way to buy the Points Plus calculator and calculating point allowance without joining?

Kristi December 8, 2010 at 9:00 am

Sandy…I’m wondering the SAME thing! We cannot afford to go to meetings or join online…but were making great headway with the POINTS program. Would love to know if we can just go BUY the new calculator from a WW center, and if it would give me my points target.

DanicasDaily December 8, 2010 at 9:06 am

Hi Kristi,

Yes, you can go in and buy a calculator. You do not need to be a member and if they question you, just tell them it’s for a Christmas gift :)

Good luck and let me know if it works out.

Machelle December 9, 2010 at 1:04 am

Danica, do you know if there is a way I can buy the deluxe kit from where you are?I went to the WW here where I live and they sell it for $55! The calculator is $15.95! The price difference is crazy. I joined WW in early Nov, bought the books and calculator, and then they come out with new things. They won’t let me return them and didn’t warn me that they would be useless in less than a month.

sherry December 9, 2010 at 4:36 am

Hi Danica,
just found your site and LOVE it!!
Folloiwed WW a few years ago, my sis mainly does, so I am familair with it, but more of a whole ,make your own , eat more natral food person, besides being a lifelong diabetic since I was so pretty familiar with food more ways than I want, plus a cook.
Struggle with weight, love to run and bike, and plan to join WW online and would love to be in your facebook group. Can you send me an invite??

DanicasDaily December 9, 2010 at 10:26 am

Hi Machelle,

That is INSANE! I’ve heard of price differences but that is the most. I know they are currently out of stock at the center near me, but, when, they come back in stock, I’d be glad to get you one. Just let me know and we can work out the details.

I agree with how they were discounting things. Seems like they should at least say ohhh, well, maybe we can give you such and such % off a new kit even if you can’t return your old one.

Denise December 10, 2010 at 10:22 am

Do you have to call one of the centers in the area you live and ask them if you can purchase the package without attending the meetings or do you have to go to the meetings in order to get the program? i went to one of the centers but it was not open and i was not sure if they were open to the public without having to join a meeting. and i think that those who were on the other program should get compensated with the new info for free since they have been in it so long.

DanicasDaily December 10, 2010 at 11:52 am

Hi Denise,

No, you do not need to call. All Weight Watchers locations are supposed to open up a 1/2 hour before each meeting time listed and I believe they stay open a 1/2 hour after the meeting. You can go in during the times they are open even if a meeting is in progress. You don’t have to be a member to buy the materials. You can always say you are buying it as a gift for someone if they question you.

Hope that helps,

Amanda Schoolfield December 20, 2010 at 2:05 pm

I am joining my local WW tomorrow and my husband is going to diet with me without going to the meetings. Is there a way to calculate his points without him going to a meeting??

DanicasDaily December 21, 2010 at 9:43 am

Hi Amanda,

Absolutely. You both can use your materials and the points plus calculator calculates your daily points+ target as well as the points+ values of foods. i can’t wait to hear how ti goes for you both.

good luck,

marie February 16, 2011 at 7:44 pm

I went today to my local office in pc Florida and they would not sell it to me bc I am not a member I was super irritated bc either way your s getting money but I guess they want the 130 dollars for me to be a 10 week member disgusting…….

DanicasDaily February 17, 2011 at 4:59 pm

Hi Marie,

I cannot believe that they would not sell you a kit – anyone can buy a kit without being a member. Did you try telling them it was a gift? You could always try another time because I know that some leaders/receptionists are nicer than others.

If they still make you become a member, there is a way around it. You can join and say you want to pay weekly – just the first week and you will get all the materials on that day. You can buy the Essentials Kit and points+ calculator for around $25 and you would be good to go.

I hope that helps a bit….if you still can’t get a kit, let me know and I’d be glad to get one at my location to ship to you.

Good luck and keep me posted on how it goes,

Ann in MN February 21, 2011 at 9:38 am

Hi Danica! I just found your sight and appreciate all the GREAT info you have posted…THANKS! My problem is, I live in rural Minnesota and would like to get back on WW but there are no meetings around hers (within 75 miles 1 way!) and would love to purchase the deluxe kit. I tried to call corporate WW to get some phone numbers to see if the locations have any in stock before I make the 150 mile trip to get one but WW can’t give me any numbers!!!! UGGGHHHH. I am a lifetime member as I have lost over 50 pounds in the past but could stand to loose a few more as some of it has crept back on! Is there any way you could help? PLEASE!! You can certainly reach me direct thru my email anytime and ANY help you could give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again, Ann

DanicasDaily February 21, 2011 at 12:16 pm

HI Ann,

Thanks for the comment. I will email you.

saray February 24, 2011 at 7:54 pm

Do you still have any delux kits remaining in your inventory? If so I am looking for one and would like to know the cost.
Tanks Saray

saray February 24, 2011 at 7:57 pm

I am currently a weight watchers member but our location will not have these supplies replenished until late March early April of 2011.

Tammy Simmons March 3, 2011 at 8:28 am

I am needing a delux kit with calculator. They are out on the WW site and I do not have access to a center. Could you supply me with a phone number where I
could call and have one shipped. I am an on-line member.

tinyleno March 4, 2011 at 10:27 pm

When WW will not sell the materials to me as a non-member, where can I go to get reasonably priced started materials?

desiree March 6, 2011 at 7:55 pm

Hi Danica,

I joined weight watchers online today for three months just to get me on the right track to lose the weight after having my son. I will be getting rid of the membership before the 3 months is up but would like to get the deluxe kit but they do not have them online and do not have them at any of the local meeting places. Can you get me a kit and send it to me?

Thank you,

Please help

DanicasDaily March 7, 2011 at 10:25 am

HI Tinyleno,

Did you try telling them you are buying the materials as a gift or are an online member? Sometimes that helps, sometimes not. Another option is you could join for 1 week ($12) and get all the materials you want since they give everything you need to work the program the first meeting. If this isn’t an option, maybe have a friend who is a member purchase them for you. I know different leaders/receptionists are willing to sell/not sell the kits, etc.

I think that the price people are charging online is out of control and a lot more than you would pay by just heading into a Weight Watchers location near you.

Hope that helps a bit ~ good luck!

Joelynn March 8, 2011 at 4:48 pm

I wanted to know what are the differences between the WW online and the meetings? Do both supply the same materials? Are the materials from the meetings the same materials available to members online? I’ve heard different things and I’m confused. I can’t really afford the meetings one but would like the materials if I join online. Can someone help clarify this for me?

DanicasDaily March 9, 2011 at 2:36 pm

Hi Joelynn,

Thanks for the comment and great question. Yes, you can get the same materials online as in the meetings, however, if you are like me, having books in front of me is easier.

An option you could do would be to visit your local Weight Watcher center and attend the first meeting. They give you all the materials you need to work the program. Then, purchase the points+ calculator and the essentials kit and you would be set. This would give you everything you need to work the program. You can use this material by itself or along with the online membership.

I personally LOVE attending meetings because of the support I get and there is something about being accountable to the scale each week that works for me. I do have the monthly pass which gives me access to all the information online as well so it’s the best of both worlds.

You could always give the online version a try during the trial period and see if that works for you.

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions.

Donna Mueller April 4, 2011 at 12:19 pm

I bought a points plus calculator at my first weeks meeting. There were no instructions inside! I need help ( and directions !) on how to use this pocket calculator! Can you help?

Nonna98 April 4, 2011 at 12:21 pm

I can’t use my points plus caclulator! No instructions were in the box. Can you please help me use this tool?

DanicasDaily April 4, 2011 at 2:03 pm

Hi Donna,

I emailed you the instructions that I scanned on how to use your calculator. You should talk to the people at your meeting and let them know that they didn’t include the instructions.

Good luck,

Sabrina May 9, 2011 at 10:42 am

Hi Donna,

I was wondering if there was any way you might be able to send me one of the Deluxe Kits. I live in Canada and they did put them together here. Please send me an email so that we can discuss this further. Thank you so much!!

Sheila May 12, 2011 at 8:56 pm

I can’t use my points plus calculator, no instructions, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DanicasDaily May 13, 2011 at 11:23 am

HI Sheila,

I emailed you the instructions that I scanned for the calculator.

Good luck!

Marie May 23, 2011 at 5:19 am

I also would like a NEW Weight Watchers 2011 Points Plus Deluxe Member Kit with Calculator, but sadly I live in a very rural area and cannot find one! Is there anyway we could get one? My hubby and I so need to lose weight!

Kathleen May 25, 2011 at 3:53 pm

Hi. I just purchased a new points plus calculator and the one thing I can’t figure out is how to enter Activity Points to deduct those from my Daily Points. I’ve looked through the instruction booklet but can’t find any reference to Activity Points. Do you know if there is a way to do this using the calculator? Thanks for your help.

Chelsea August 1, 2011 at 6:05 pm

Hi! I just came across your site and I find it extremely useful & helpful! I have a friend who is WW right now, but I don’t have the disposable income at the moment to join, even though i would lovee to. I was just wondering if I ask my friend to buy me the points calculator if that would be good for me, will I be able to use it still even though i’m not a member? and do you have instructions on how to use it? Thanks so much I would really appreciate all your help!
