Happy Wednesday all! We kicked off our annual Las Vegas trip today and despite being a million degrees of HOT outside, I am really excited for it. There is definitely going to be a whole lot of deliciousness going on, but, my goal is focus on moderation by only eating half of everything and listening to what my stomach (not taste buds) tell me. I still want to track my points+ to be aware and I am totally wearing my BM to track my steps/calories burned, but, I do plan on enjoying our vacation.
The Husband is super excited about his Casino Chip show and I will be taking full advantage of a spa day while he geeks out over chips LOL. We will definitely be doing a lot of walking, visiting some exhibits and may take in a show as well.
Today, we just spent the day relaxing and getting settled in for our stay.
Breakfast started off at Starbuck’s with a Grande Iced Dirty Coconut Coffee with 1 pump coconut & 1 pump mocha with a splash of half & half (2 points+).
Then, we debated breakfast options before ended up at Dos Coyotes where we shared this customized Salsa Bacon Breakfast Burrito.
It was stuffed with a little cheese, egg, 2 slices of bacon and hot salsa ~ homemade salsa totally made this burrito amazing. (8 points+ for half ~ estimate)
One of the first places we always go when we are in Las Vegas is Samurai Sam’s just so we can Wok The Healthy Path ![]()
It’s a simple teriyaki bowl place, but, you have your choice of lean, grilled meats over brown rice, white rice, soba noodles or steamed veggies.
Since I ordered the “Combo” I started off with a Grilled Egg Roll (6 points+) ~ having the grill marks makes it fun to eat.
I picked the small grilled teriyaki chicken bowl with SPICY Teriyaki Sauce over brown rice ~ LOVE! (11 points+) but you could totally save on points+ by getting all veggies. I was hungry enough I wanted the rice even though I stopped when I was comfortable and didn’t finish it.
We are staying just off the strip at our time share the Wyndham Grand Dessert. Here is the view from our room ~ I cant’ wait to see how it looks at night.
The Kitchen ~ perfect for whipping up healthy breakfasts, snacks and fruits to keep everything in moderation for all the delicious places I know we will be eating.
The Dining Room although I totally LOVE eating at the bar since I’ve always wanted one. I am sure it’s the high pub chairs.
Living room
The “Master” Suite….we have a guest bedroom too since they upgraded us for free ~ DEAL!
Even though it’s like 108 degrees here, I have no doubt I will be using our “spa”.
We spent the afternoon getting settled in by stocking up on food and doing a little shopping. We actually brought Salt Water Taffy from a local candy store.
You get 2 pieces of Taffy for 1 points+ ~ hands down my favorite sweet treat….well, aside from ice cream and shaved ice LOL.
We actually pondered heading out to eat but we were strangely excited to make Chip-Wiches with what we bought today at the store instead.
This was actually my favorite sandwich growing up ~ nothing on it at all but…..bread, meat, cheese and chips.
- 2 Slices Orowheat Healthful 10 Grain Bread (4 points+)
- 1 oz Hillshire Farm Honey Ham (1 points+)
- 1 slice Sargento 2% Swiss (2 points+
- Sour Cream and Cheddar Baked Ruffles
With more chips on the side. (3 points+ for my Snack Size Bag)
The Husband was in charge of our side ~ had made us simple salads topped with Wishbone Ranch and sunflower seeds (2 points+)
Sometimes the simplest things are the most delicious things.
We are getting ready to head down to the pool or to take a long walk on the strip. I am going to resist getting ice cream since we have super cute personal watermelons waiting for us when we get back.
STATS: (12am – 8 pm)
- 2,358 calories burned
- 5,105 steps taken
- 37 daily points+
Tomorrow is SPA DAY and I cannot wait!
Night all!
