What are the little things in life that make you happy?

by DanicasDaily on March 11, 2011

It’s almost Friday so Happy Friday!!! :)   I think it’s awesome the ways you all “sneak” in healthy foods to get your friends and family to try them.  The Husband is actually pretty good about trying at least a bite of most of my science projects, but, I LOVE telling him AFTER what I did….it makes it more fun ;)

I think this week I am just in a sleep deficit.  I had a hard time getting going this morning which means my “brain” couldn’t decide what sounded good for breakfast.

I brought stuff to make egg salad, but, really all I wanted was Toast with Buttah (5 points+)

Plus “banana chips”.

Simple 5 points+ breakfasts make me happy…..

Then again so do Venti Iced Dirty Lattes (ff, decaf latte with 1 pump mocha) (4 points+).

I actually couldn’t wait to dig in and try one of the new Weight Watcher Fresh Meals that I received yesterday.  Pasta is probably ALWAYS my first choice especially when it involves CHEESE!

IMG_7558

The Weight Watchers Three Cheese Ravioli’s is 6 points+ for the ENTIRE container.

IMG_7560

But, THE BEST PART……REAL INGREDIENTS!!! I can pronounce and know every single one in the box.  WTG WW!

IMG_7561

Looks delicious, huh?!  It cooks up in just 2 minutes perfectly a dente with great texture and flavor.

IMG_7570

Cheesy, good!  It didn’t taste like a “diety” entree at all,  I would definitely buy this one if I saw it in the store….it honestly tasted like homemade, not out of a box.

IMG_7572

I rounded my cheesy ravioli’s out with some Spicy Asian Peanut Slaw (2 points+)

IMG_7568

and Orange Wedges!

I can’t believe I am going to say this because it never happens when i have boxed meals, but, I was genuinely “stuffed” after eating all of this.  My lunch kept me full for 6 hours.

After work, I was off to Reflection Salon & Spa to see my FAVORITE hair dresser ever!  I honestly LOVE that you can have homemade chicken potstickers ordered, delivered and waiting for you when you arrive Open-mouthed smile I swapped her my Meyer Lemon Chia Muffins for a box of steamed chicken potstickers.  I totally resisted eating the entire container.  (10 points+)

I always bring her a Starbuck’s and decided it was totally worth it to have 2 in 1 day Open-mouthed smile

Tall nonfat decaf latte (3 points+)

Q’s

What are the little things in life that make you happy?

First and foremost, all the little thoughtful things (like drawing on my Starbuck’s cup) that The Husband does for me.  This may sound corny, but, I LOVE making smiley faces with my food and sharing my food with others.  Anytime you see me cooking on here, I am most likely giving away the other half to my friends and coworkers.  Oh, my list goes on, yet, it all revolves around food LOL! I am such a simple things person….but, Starbuck’s and having homemade potstickers while I chat it up with one of my greatest friends in the world makes me happy!

Speaking of the little things that make me happy ~ I can’t wait for lunch tomorrow at TJ’s Test Kitchen ~ we are “testing” 3 NEW recipes!

Night all!

what makes me happy?
1) my house is neat and clean when I come home from work
2) I try a new recipe and everyone loves it
3) going out to eat
4) eating
4) hugs from my little granddaughters

I love your smiley breakfast! Little things? Getting something I would buy anyway on sale, finding a new hot sauce to try, the smell of fresh cut grass (I can’t wait for spring in these parts, haven’t smelled that in months!), and getting lovely comments on my blog. Have a great day Danica!!!

I have never seen those ww products in my store, only frozen Smartones :( If I did, I’d try them for sure.
Trying new foods always makes me happy :) I look for something new in the store every week :)

Since my husband doesn’t like most of the stuff I cook, I almost always make four servings of a dish – one for me, two for my office co-workers who are on WW and then one portion for the freezer for me – oh, and did I tell you that these two co-workers pay me $20 each for me to bring their lunch – $40 bucks is typically half of my grocery bill – sweet!

Have fun with TJ – jealous!

I smile every day when I get home and my old dog greets me like he hasn’t seen me in years. This morning I got a block from home and realized I forgot my cell phone and when I went back into the house he was up and wagging his tail and I’d only been gone about a minute.

Oh, and food!

My grandchildren, candles and wine and a good movie, eating out with my best friend, and family and my husband’s smile!

Those potstickers look divine!

I love making happy faces with my food too. I think it stems from my mom making me yogurt plates with fruit faces in them when I was a kid! :)
